about

a love letter to the
space between calls.

long-distance isn’t the problem. the boredom in between is. yui is for the hours you’re both online and out of things to say.

you’ve sent “wyd” for the fourteenth time today.

they replied “nothing u” and now you’re both just… there. two phones, two cities, a conversation running on fumes. you love them. you’re also a little bored. both things are true.

that gap is what yui is for. not another chat app, not a wellness check-in, not a relationship to-do list. a place to actually do something together when you can’t be in the same room — games that go somewhere, questions that aren’t small talk, the stuff you keep meaning to say and never do.

the whole idea

you think you
know them.

you’ve been together a year, three years, since high school. you know their order, their tells, the way they go quiet before they say something real. and there’s still a version of them you haven’t met. every deck, every prompt, every game is a small bet that there’s more — and a reason to go find it.

what you actually get

play — newlywed-style guessing, live two-player games, the works. answer first, guess after, find out how wrong you were.

ask — decks that go from silly to spicy to the kind of question you’d only ask at 2am. say it or skip it.

feel — prompts and notes for the things that don’t fit in a text. the harder conversations, on your own time.

behind it

two people who got tired of the loop and built the thing they wished existed. no investors telling us to add streaks. no growth team optimizing your feelings. it’s small on purpose — made for two, not for “users.”

we’re still building. if something feels off, or you want a deck that doesn’t exist yet, tell us — hi@yui.app.

so. text them, or link up.
