what we ask.
what we keep.
what’s only theirs.
the honest version, in plain language. no fourteen-page policy, no fine print designed to be skipped.
the short version: we built this to need almost nothing from you.
no account. no email. no password. you link up with a code and a name — that’s it. your answers, your prompts, the things you save… most of it never leaves your phone. we can’t read what we never collect.
a code & a name
to pair two phones we need a shared code and whatever name you call your partner. no real names, no email, no sign-up required.
your answers
prompts you save, journal entries, game history — stored locally in your browser. it lives on your device, not our servers.
live game moves
when you play side by side, moves route through our server so your partner sees them in real time. it’s relayed, not archived.
the private stuff
the thing you typed at 2am and decided not to send. your saved notes. anything marked just-for-them. we don’t collect it, so we can’t read it.
no ad trackers. no selling data — there’s nothing to sell. no shadow profile of your relationship. we’re not in the business of knowing you; we’re in the business of helping you two know each other.
we may keep anonymous, aggregate counts — like how many people opened a deck — so we know what to build next. never tied to you, never tied to what you said.
unlink anytime from the link-up page — it clears your code, your partner’s name, and your local data from that device. clearing your browser data does the same thing. there’s no “contact support to request deletion” ritual, because there’s no account to delete.
questions, or want to know exactly what’s stored? hi@yui.app. a real person reads it.
